Tata Motors' total sales (including exports) of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles in June 2010 were 67,730 vehicles, a growth of 49% over 45,440 vehicles sold in June 2009. The company's domestic sales of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles for June 2010 were 62,602 nos., a 45% growth over 43,284 nos. sold in June last year.
IndusInd Bank Ltd. and Tata Motors have entered into an agreement, where IndusInd Bank will provide channel finance facilities to Tata Motors’ dealers.
The other new features include a 4-spoke tilt-adjustable steering wheel and height-adjustable driver's seat enabling customised driving positions. The flexible 60:40 flip and fold rear seat lends added space for multiple needs. The fully integrated 2-DIN stereo system with Blue 5 and USB port enhance entertainment and communication convenience. Dual airbags (driver and passenger) and ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) make it one of the safest cars on Indian roads.
Another good one is that Tata Nano Electric also will be introduced in Europe in next 24-30 months. For indian market its not announced yet.
Already around 26500 Tata Nano have been delivered to the customers. Tata Motors's mother plant for Tata Nano begins production in April 2010 when it rolls out its first batch of Tata Nano. The new plant is near completion in Gujarat as it was shifted from Singur in West Bengal last year.
The Tata Motors group global sales, comprising Tata, Tata Daewoo and Hispano Carrocera range of commercial vehicles, Tata passenger vehicles along with distributed brands in India, and Jaguar and Land Rover, were 74,707 vehicles in December 2009, a growth of 84 per cent over December 2008. Cumulative sales for the fiscal (April to December 2009) are at 595,766, higher by 9 per cent compared to the corresponding period in 2008-09.
The awards are an expert and independent judgment of all new cars and motorcycles launched in the calendar year in India. Tata Motors is pleased to announce that Mr. Ashok Raghunath Vichare of Mumbai has become the first customer in India of the Tata Nano. Mr Ashok Raghunath Vichare also become first owner of the world's cheapest car. Mr. Vichare received his choice, the Tata Nano LX (Lunar Silver), at the hands of the Chairman of Tata Sons and Tata Motors, Mr. Ratan N. Tata, at the company's dealership, Concorde Motors, today.
As planned, Tata Motors has commenced deliveries of the Tata Nano this month to different towns and cities of the country. Despatches to dealerships have begun from the Pantnagar plant, where the car is being produced, in accordance with schedules informed to customers.
The Tata Nano website recorded an unprecedented 3 crore (30 million) hits from the date of launch of the car to the closure of the booking period (25th April, 2009), nearly 1 million hits a day. About 14 lakh people walked in to Tata Motors’ Showrooms, Croma and Westside stores across the country to catch a glimpse of the car. A total of 6.10 lakh forms were purchased from the booking centres. 70% of the 2.03 lakh bookings received were financed, while 30% of the applicants booked in cash by paying fully. About 4,000 cash bookings were made online through www.tatanano.com, a first for the auto industry in India. Among the three variants of the car, 20% bookings are for the Nano Standard, 30% for the Nano CX and the remaining 50% for the top-end Nano LX.
As announced on 23rd March, the first 100,000 allottees from among the applicants will be chosen through a computerised random selection procedure, and the announcement will be made within 60 days of closure of the booking. Deliveries will start in July 2009, and are expected to be completed in the last quarter of 2010, while all efforts would be made to ramp up production and deliver earlier.
Simultaneously along with the announcement of the first 1 lakh successful allottees, Tata Motors will also announce the allotment of those booking applicants who have expressed their interest in retaining their bookings with the company even if they do not form part of the first 1 lakh allottees. The retainees will earn an interest on their booking amount, effective from that date. The booking amounts of unsuccessful applicants who have not chosen to retain their booking amounts will be refunded at the same time.

Applicants have the option to retain their booking deposit, even if they do not get allotment in the first phase. Those who choose this option will be eligible for interest on their deposit, effective from the date of announcement of allotment of the second phase, at a rate of 8.5% for retention period between one year to two year and 8.75% for a retention period of more than 2 years. Allotment of retainees will be simultaneously communicated, along with the allotment of the first 100,000 cars.
