In January 2007, GMC was GM's second biggest selling vehicle division after Chevrolet, Pontiac first. GMC vehicles are marketed in the Middle East.
On December 22, 1901, Max Grabowsky created a company called "Rapid Motor Vehicle Company, which has developed some of the earliest commercial trucks ever designed. Trucks with a cylinder engines. Another independent manufacturer purchased the GMC in the same year was Reliance Motor Car Company. Express and Reliance were merged in 1911 and in 1912 the name "GMC Truck" was presented at the New York International Auto Show. About 22 000 vehicles had been manufactured, although the GMC share of this total was only 372 points.
In 1916, a GMC truck crossed the country from Seattle to New York in 30 days, and in 1926 was a 2-ton GMC truck traveled from New York to San Francisco for five days, and 30 minutes. During the Second World War, GMC Truck produced 600,000 trucks for use by the U.S. Army.
In 1925, GM acquired control of Yellow Coach, which manufactures a line of Chicago that was founded by John D. Hertz. Once you have bought the remaining share in 1943, GM named GM Truck and Coach Division. Division produces cars at a distance until 1980. Transit bus production ended in May 1987. Canadian Mill (London, Ontario) is produced by a line 1962 to July 1987. GMC has withdrawn from the bus on the market because of increased competition in 1970 and 1980. Fees for the RTS model was sold to Transportation Manufacturing Corporation, even if the motor coach association Canada purchased the classic design.
In 2002, the GMC has published a book entitled, GM: The First 100 Years, a complete history of the company. GM currently manufactures SUVs, pickup trucks, vans, light trucks and medium trucks. Previously, GMalso produced fire trucks, ambulances, military vehicles, motor homes and transit buses.(@ car review)
