Subaru, a Japanese Car of Fuji Heavy Industries - Car Showroom; Subaru is the automobile manufacturing division of Japanese transportation conglomerate Fuji Heavy Industries (FHI). Subaru is known worldwide for their use of boxer engine layout used in automobiles, Volkswagen Beetle and Porsche 911, in most of their vehicles over 1500cc, and use of all-wheel drive transmission layout, the first time in 1972, which became the standard for midsize and smaller cars in most international markets in 1996. They also offer many turbocharged versions of their cars such as the Impreza WRX.

Fuji Heavy Industries, the parent company of Subaru, is currently in a partnership with Toyota Motor Corporation partial, which owns 16.5% of FHI.

Subaru is the Japanese name for the Pleiades cluster, which in turn inspires Subaru logo and alludes to the six companies that merged to create FHI.
