2011 Bajaj Discover 125cc Price Around Rs. 45K Launched in India

2011 Bajaj Discover 125cc
Bajaj Auto launched new Bajaj Discover 125cc bike with DTS-i power. Bajaj Discover 125cc DTS-i will be addition to Bajaj Discover bike family of Discover 100 and the Discover 150 models.

S.Sridhar, President Motorcycle Business, Bajaj Auto said “Although we are riding high on the success of the Discover 100 and the Discover 150, there is still a significant base of commuters who prefer an optimum combination of mileage & power. The Discover 125 is expected to cater to the unfulfilled need of the above set of commuters and spread the Discover excitement across the commuter segment,”

Country’s second largest two wheeler maker launched the DTS-i powered Discover 100 in July 2009. This strong and sporty bike offered outstanding mileage and was an instant success in a market hitherto completely dominated by Hero Honda executive bikes. It reached volumes of 80000+ per month within a year of its launch. It next launched the Discover 150 in May 2010 which gave the Indian consumer an opportunity to own a 150cc commuter at an affordable price. This flanking strategy against its major competitor has given instant results with another 35,000 bikes being contributed by this powerful variant.

Bajaj Discover 125cc Price in India:
Bajaj Discover 125cc price at Rs. 45,500/- (ex-showroom, Delhi) and will be launched in phase-wise manner across the country.

New Bajaj Discover 125cc Bike Coming Soon

Greetings! Here is a piece of news that will certainly bring some questions on Bajaj because the company is again set to roll out Bajaj Discover 125 next month i.e. in April. According to the news, Bajaj will launch the bike in coming month. One can just say that they are coming up with nothing but variants of Discover.

Bajaj Discover Price in India:
Bajaj Discover 125cc Drum brake version – Rs.44,000
Bajaj Discover 125cc Disc brake version - Rs.47,000
Bajaj Discover 150cc – Rs.48,000!

According to the market conditions, Bajaj doesn’t want people to lose sight of their one of the best selling bikes and thus they are rolling its variants time and again. The company wants to take advantage of Discover’s popularity and one may expect lot more variants from them in future.

Bajaj Discover 125 is going to be launched in two variants i.e. a cheaper drum brake variant and another variant that sports a disk brakes. The cheaper drum brake version is expected to sell around 44,000 INR and the other with discs will be priced around 47,000 INR. Well, as you can see that there is not much of a difference between the two expect the brakes part and thus in my opinion the company might have to rework their pricing system. The pricing policy of the company needs a serious reworking because the Discover 150 sells at 48,000 INR. After these two versions come up, Bajaj will have many variants of the same bike; this will be confusing for people to come to a conclusion.

News has it that, the all new Discover 125 will have a sub brand that will be independent of Bajaj. This re-branding is Bajaj’s long time strategy to set different brand names for Pulsars and Discovers because they are so successful in the market.

Yet another interesting fact associated to the launch is that the company is looking to push Discover sales to 1.65 lakh units by mid 2011-2012. To sum up the whole scenario, Bajaj wants to double its Discover sales and set it as a separate brand and thus they are rolling out Discovers time and again.

New Bajaj Discover Coming Soon in India

Bajaj Auto is ready to re-launch the 125cc variant of its popular model Discover in India. Bajaj currently sells the 135cc variant of Discover in the country and the model was refreshed last year only. The company has recently refreshed its entire Pulsar family and now looks at the Discover model to lend a new look to the same.

Bajaj XCD 125cc has not been able to make any significant impact in the market and the sales figures for the same have not been impressive either. Thus, Bajaj intends to re-vamp and introduce the 125cc model of Discover once again to the market to maintain healthy sales figures in the two-wheeler market segment.

Bajaj will manufacture the 125cc bike at its Pantnagar facility in Uttrakhand and the model is expected in the market between September and November 2009. Bajaj is also planning to launch the Kawasaki Ninja model in the super-bikes luxury models segment. The new super bike is also expected in the Indian market by end 2009.

Bajaj Bikes India Plans to Launch KTM Bikes in India Soon

Bajaj, which bought a 14.5% stake in Austrian motorcycle manufacturer KTM last year, is now said to be finalizing plans to bring a select few KTM motorcycles to India. KTM manufactures high-performance dual-purpose, street-oriented and supermoto-style bikes, which are powered by KTM’s own single-cylinder and v-twin engines.

Speaking to some journalists from automobile magazines, who were recently taken to Austria to test-ride KTM motorcycles, it seems the first KTM bike to be launched in India would be the 690 Duke. Powered by KTM's 65bhp, 654cc single-cylinder 'LC4' engine, the 690 Duke is likely to be appreciated by sportsbike enthusiasts in the country.

Bajaj is expected to import CKD kits for the KTM 690 Duke, which will then be assembled in India. Prices, of course, have not been announced yet, but the 690 Duke retails for the equivalent of about Rs four lakh in Europe, so it should cost around Rs 5-6 lakh in India, taking import duties into account. Expect to see the bike in Bajaj Probiking showrooms by Diwali this year.

Apart from the 690 Duke, Bajaj may also sell other KTM motorcycles in India, which, to begin with, may be imported as CBUs from Austria. Bikes like the RC8 – KTM’s top-of-the-range superbike – could come to India by mid-2009, and is likely to cost more than Rs 12 lakh on-road.
